Venus Williams runs out of Steam, Petra Kvitova Prevails with Wimbledon Win
Five-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams played a 'superb' third round against 2011 title winner Petra Kvitova but came away with a loss. Williams was only two points from a straight sets victory but Czech Kvitova pulled through 5-7, 7-6(2), 7-5 in two hours and 30 minutes. Much was determined in the second set tie-break when an angled forehand saw Kvitova established and a tired response from Williams gave the Czech four set points. Kvitova will face Shuai Peng on Monday to compete for a place in the last eight.
