Video Released of Captive U.S. Soldier Bowe Bergdahl
New video footage of Army St. Bowe Bergdahl, a solider being held captive in Afghanistan since 2009, revealed that he is still alive. Bergdahl went missing five years ago while serving in Afghanistan near the Pakistan border. The video showed that the soldier's health is declining, but it is not life threatening, and he referred to events that had occurred in the past month, a sign that the footage was current. His captors demand a prisoner exchange for five Taliban members being held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Bergdahl's family was made aware of the footage and the Pentagon says they will "continue to call for and work toward his safe and immediate release."
